German brand presents its new flagship, the Dehler 46 SQ. The new model will make its world debut at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival (France, 6-11 September).
The new Dehler 46 SQ stands out with a new decoration and lighting concept, an intelligent interior layout, as well as high-performance upgrades to the rig and cockpit.
Dehler 46 SQ, the deck
Fold-out footrests at the helm stations provide comfortable and secure footing on windward courses. The new bathing platform is lighter and easier to use and offers an integrated bathing ladder with a fold-out handrail and large steps. A special design feature is the backlit Dehler logo, which offers a choice of light colors. The optional cockpit arch offers not only an integrated sprayhood but also a sheeting point for the mainsail, replacing the traveller and freeing up space in a tidier cockpit. What is more, the 46 SQ can be equipped with sporty Y-spoke wheels, electric racing winches, and coachroof sun pads.
Dehler 46 SQ, the rig
The bowsprit with bobstay and integrated anchor arm offers a forward tack point for a gennaker or Code 0. With the Facnor Flatdeck furling system, the drum is significantly lower, allowing for longer luff and larger sail areas. The system is safer and easier to handle, avoiding riding turns and uneven furling on the drum. Another new feature is the flying staysail, which allows the headsail to be reduced safely and without shifting the center of effort.
Tacking on a Code 0 turbocharges performance under sail. With the Competition keel and rudder, taller carbon mast, and Quantum high-performance sails, one can coax even more potential from the Dehler 46 SQ.
Dehler 46 SQ, the interior
To bring more natural light below the deck, the hull windows have been enlarged and two additional windows let into the coachroof. New work surface colors and the updated lounge area complete a brighter saloon, which can be configured in four different layouts.
There is the option to move the port bench seat electrically up to the large saloon table to create a full-width TV or dining lounge. The ensuite bathroom offers a separate shower cubicle with an easy-to-care-for, high-gloss design. The newly developed Hidden Door increases freedom of movement in the bathroom with its elegant outward curve, underlining the luxury design of the master cabin.
Several layouts are also available for the aft cabins, making the interior design of the Dehler 46 SQ more flexible than ever before.
