Windelo has had confirmation that the family is soon to grow. The French yard announces the sale of its third boat, a Yachting version of the Windelo 54 catamaran. It will be available for charter in the Îles de Hyères Bay, in the South of France. Production of the boat has now started and it is expected to be launched this summer 2021. In the meanwhile, the yard will launch the first Windelo 50 Adventure around the second week of February.
Designed in collaboration with architects Christophe Barreau and Frédéric Neuman, renowned for the design of high-performance catamarans, the Yachting version is the most luxurious Windelo model.
When not in use by the new owners, the Windelo 54 Yachting will be entrusted to APACA Catamaran, a charter management company, which will charter her with a professional skipper. So anyone who loves sailing will be able to charter this catamaran, setting sail from one of the most beautiful sailing spots in France – Îles de Hyères Bay.
Opening up the Windelo 54 Yachting to chartering and being able to organize sea trials in the Mediterranean Sea will be a real bonus for the Windelo brand and will offer the owners a chance to make a satisfactory return on their investment.
A 4 cabins layout
This Windelo 54 Yachting, which has yet to be named, will be fitted out with 4 cabins with double beds, two shower rooms and two separate heads. The skipper has a cabin with an ensuite shower and heads on the starboard. The catamaran will be fitted with rear tilt-up door, opening the space up to a 360° view, blurring the lines between the interior and exterior and making for better use of the outside platform at anchor.
The design office has been able to meet customer requirements by extending the electric engine’s range. The panoramic coachroof of the Windelo 54 offers a large area which can be equipped with 3326W solar panels.
Powered by two 24kW electric engines, capable of operating via hydrogeneration, this new 54 Yachting has a considerable cruising range and the batteries can be recharged when the catamaran is under sail.
The power from hydrogeneration is supplemented by electric power from the solar panels, meaning that the generators only need to be switched on after several hours of running the electric engines. In the event of long cruises on your engine, switching on the generators brings the boat’s range to about 1,100 nautical miles. To make sailing easier and more comfortable, the catamaran’s winches are also fully electric.
