Bali 5.2: A New Catamaran Joins the Bali Line-Up

Catana Group has introduced a new model to its Bali range: the Bali 5.2. This 52-foot catamaran arrives not long after the launch of the Bali 5.8, showing how quickly the company keeps adding to its line of boats.
The Bali 5.2 is the first boat of this size in the range. It takes many ideas from the larger 5.8 but also adds some of its own. The design focuses on comfort, space, and making life onboard easy for both owners and crew.
What Makes It a Bali
Like all Bali catamarans, the new Bali 5.2 includes some of the features that have made the brand stand out. There’s the well-known up-and-over door at the back of the saloon, a solid foredeck instead of the usual trampolines, and a forward door that leads from the saloon to a front cockpit.
The boat is built with one clear goal: to make the most of every bit of space. The design team has used what they’ve learned from more than ten years and fifteen models to create a boat that feels big and open without making things complicated.
More Layout Options Than Usual
The Bali 5.2 comes in 3, 4, 5, or 6-cabin versions, which is rare for a catamaran of this size. The 6-cabin version can sleep up to 16 people. In this layout, the aft cabins each fit three people, and the bathrooms are split into separate shower and toilet areas.
There are also flexible layouts for owners who want something different. Whether you’re sailing with family, friends, or a crew, the boat can be set up in a way that fits your plans. Some layouts offer more storage, while others give extra privacy.
Inside the Boat
The inside of the Bali 5.2 is designed by PIATON-BERCAULT, with soft shapes, light colors, and lots of attention to comfort. There’s a large U-shaped galley with a big fridge, plenty of storage, and room to cook like at home.
A forward-facing chart table gives full control of the boat’s systems through a screen, and also works as a good space to sit and work with a view of the sea.
For meals and social time, there’s a big L-shaped bench around a table that seats 12 people, facing another bench that’s built for relaxing.
Open Spaces, Inside and Out
The Bali 5.2 keeps the “open space” idea that the brand is known for. When the up-and-over door is open, the inside and outside of the boat become one big space. When closed, it’s fully sealed and dry.
At the back, there’s a full-width aft deck that can include a hydraulic platform for the tender or for swimming. It also lets you move easily across the back of the boat.
The Solid Foredeck
The solid foredeck, once a bold move by Bali, is now something many sailors enjoy. It gives a place to sit, lie down, eat, or just hang out, even when sailing. The connection to the saloon makes it part of the everyday living space onboard.
The Rooftop Area
Like on the Bali 5.8, the rooftop on the 5.2 is made for different uses. It includes a sunbathing spot, a table, and a helm seat that tilts depending on how you’re using the area. It’s quiet, open, and has great views.
Built to Sail
The Bali 5.2 is not only about comfort. It also sails well. It comes with a 94 m² square-top mainsail and a 70 m² overlapping genoa. A 105 m² Code 0 is also available for light winds. For calm days, the boat can be fitted with YANMAR engines up to 115 hp each.
