Together the team have developed a new 60’ class racer-cruiser with a pedigree for the Caribbean circuit, RORC offshore and performance world cruising. Built to be fast and safe

The mouldings of the new Dazcat 1895 are produced by female CNC tooling to provide a yacht that is capable of far exceeding the competition. An all carbon mast and boom, with hay racks and carbon sails are specified ensuring the rig is very light and very stiff. A top racing specification Antal mast track system and halyard locks are used to aid higher load sail handling. The spinnaker tack line is mounted to carbon spinnaker pole with the classic Dazcat V.

Dazcat 1895, optimised to maintain control at high speed

On deck, the Dazcat 1895 is optimised for shorthanded and fully crewed sailing. To maintain total control at high speeds, powered rewind winches for the main traveller, mainsheet, self-tacking jib give the helm fingertip control and the daggerboards are set up with online drivers for easy deployment. The helm is positioned with clear all-round views, and the twin wheel, direct carbon-drive steering provides great response and control.

Exterior cruising comforts include an outside seating area, with a removable table for racing, covered by a carbon bimini decked with solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system.

Ben Rogerson comments, “Working closely with Dazcat Design we set out to create a cutting edge 60’ design. We wanted to draw on the performance and design principles pioneered by Darren Newton in the development of the Dazcat range over the past 32 years. The 1895 supports a powerful, yet controllable sail set with the ergonomically developed deck layout, enabling short-handed, fast family cruising and fully crewed, high adrenaline racing excursions.”

Tailored to each client’s personal preferences

The main saloon provides plenty of spaces to chill out. A large U-shaped seating area and table can be converted into a day bed. The breakfast bar leads to a lower galley in the port hull which allows easy and contained food preparation, as well as full interaction with guests in the saloon. Galley options include a worktop, built in fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave, with plenty of storage space.

Beside the galley, a double berth and sail stowage area sit forwards in the port hull, and in the aft quarter is a skipper/crew cabin with two single berths and adjoining heads and shower.

From the main saloon you step down into the starboard hull to the central navigation area with a navigator bench/day bed.  To the aft of this, there’s a spacious owners’ cabin which offers ample storage and an en-suite. A twin bunk room for guests or race crew members sits forward of the nav station, with its own heads and sail locker.
