Sailing Nandji Ep 79 – Testing out the Village bed…

Sailing Nandji Ep 79 – After a drunken late night visitor, we head out sailing and find an abandon village. We hang out there for the weekend and play with the locals.

In this episode of Sailing Nandji, after a week of having land living with Yosh’s parents, we head back through the Diamond Narrows to Noro to prepare for our next adventure. Whilst at anchor we have an uninvited drunken guest in the middle of the night to Nandji…

We tie up to a barge to get fuel, then head out sailing. With a nice breeze on our back, we sail a quick 30nm to a beautiful anchorage. Only to be awaken in the middle of the night with some terrible weather, we rise early and move on down the coast as it is too rough to cross the passage to Isabel island, our wanted destination. We hide away in a protected cove and discover an abandon village.

We tie up to the old wharf outside the village and spend a weekend hanging with the local people. We check out what village life would be like and have a look at the huts and the way of life for many Solomon Islander’s. We trade for fruit and veg, home made fishing lures and songs! We also get busy whilst moored up and fix a few things on Nandji.
