Sailing Nandji, Ep 54 – Extreme VOLCANO Cooking
In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we rise at 2am to climb one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Mt Yasur on Tanna island, Vanuatu.
We climb to the top of the crater in the pitch dark and look down into the depths of the earth. The volcano spits lava, volcanic ash and sulphur into the sky. This level 2 activity that we witness means there could be an explosion at anytime and the volcano could spit lava as high as the crest of the crater.
Exactly where we were standing. Mt Yasur volcano is one of the craziest natural things we have ever witnessed, its shear power was relentless and breath taking. We then go trekking around Port Resolution with a young machete wielding guide who explains to us how they cook with the natural hot springs.
Excited by how they do this, we test out the boiling hot springs and try a little extreme volcano cooking our selves. We take some eggs to the rocks and cook our breakfast in the hot springs. We try to anyway…
