5 Reasons That Make the New Mylius M72 Stand Out

The new Mylius M72, designed by MYLIUS YACHTS in collaboration with Carkeek Design, combines high performance with comfort. Built entirely at the Piacenza shipyard in Italy, this 72-foot yacht is intended for owners who appreciate competitive racing without sacrificing cruising pleasure. Here are five aspects that make the Mylius M72 stand out.

1. Cutting-edge design focused on performance

The Mylius M72 features sleek and muscular lines with an inverted bow, minimalist deckhouse, and flush deck bridge. Designed to enhance hydrodynamic and aerodynamic efficiency, the yacht includes a retractable anchor and a retractable propeller shaft line to minimize drag. The hull design prioritizes speed and stability, making it a capable racer in any condition.

2. Powerful water lines and advanced construction

Built from full prepreg carbon fibre, the Mylius M72 boasts modern waterlines with a wide stern and flared bow volume. These elements contribute to high speeds and excellent stability, even when heeled. The yacht’s twin rudders, lifting keel, and 1,000-litre water ballasts enhance control and versatility, allowing for competitive racing with a reduced crew.

3. Sail plan designed for competition

The Mylius M72 is equipped with a 29.9-meter high-modulus carbon mast by Hall Spars, accompanied by a carbon boom and bowsprit. With running backstays, dual backstays, and a racing sail inventory including a top square mainsail, J2 jib, Code 0, and A3, this yacht is configured to excel in regattas. For cruising, smaller sails can be utilized, providing adaptability to different sailing conditions.

4. Multifunctional deck plan of the Mylius M72

The carbon-laminated flush deck, available in teak or skydry, is designed for simplicity and efficiency. The deck’s substantial beam (6 m) offers a spacious, uninterrupted surface optimized for manoeuvres. Positioned forward, the twin helm wheels free up the stern for a large sunbathing area, ideal for relaxation when cruising. All rigging is flush deck, with winches positioned to avoid obstructing the crew.

5. Refined, customizable interiors

The Mylius M72’s interiors, developed by Studio Parisotto+ Formenton Architetti, focus on comfort and functionality. With three cabins, each with a private bathroom, a fully equipped galley, and a spacious dinette, the yacht offers a practical yet elegant layout. The keel box is flanked by a pullman berth and a study, while the smooth, rounded lines of the interior contribute to a dynamic and contemporary aesthetic. Owners can customize materials, colors, and fabrics to suit their preferences.
