On Saturday morning in Viareggio Vismara launched the new VM 80, the new project by Vismara and the designer Micheletti. The sailing yacht has been in-build at the Viareggio shipyard since 2021 where the project’s carbon sandwich hull and deck structure were laminated.
The VM 80 is a six-handed project by Vismara in collaboration with the designers Lucio Micheletti, as regards the interiors and styling.
The hull of the VM 80 is built entirely of carbon sandwich, the deck is covered in teak.
A retractable keel with a draft of 2.50 meters is installed for navigating in shallow seas and entering the port by the motor; and 4 m for offshore sailing.
The maneuvers are all reported aft on the 4 electric winches positioned in front of the double wheelhouse to which comfortable sundeck chairs have been added, designed for long voyages.
On deck we find a large cockpit divided into two areas with a double L-shaped sofa and two large folding dining tables for dining al fresco.
Going down the stairs and entering inside we find ourselves in front of a large dinette with an L-shaped sofa and table on the left side; on the right a second sofa, TV, and chart table.
Towards the stern, on the right side next to the sofa, is the kitchen, consisting of: tilting gas burners, fridge, oven, dishwasher, sink and large countertop.
Continuing after the kitchen is the sailor’s cabin: bunk bed, wardrobe, and a private bathroom with shower. On the opposite side, there is a guest cabin with a double bed, large wardrobe, and bathroom with a shower.
The engine room, with a double 120hp sail drive engine installed, is located under the dinette.
A large electric opening hatch has been mounted on the transom which can accommodate a tender of 3 m in length, and also acts as a swimming platform for when you are comfortably stationary in the harbor.
The interiors of the Vismara VM 80 are spacious and very bright thanks to the large hull windows and a second window on the deckhouse that allows you to look around 180 degrees while comfortably seated on the sofa.
All rooms are ventilated from the outside through the different hatches positioned on the deck.
Two air conditioning and heating systems are also installed to be able to experience the boat both in summer and in winter in maximum comfort.
