Simple bathing platform, swim ladder and gangplank

Here we show you the simple setup we use for bathing and getting on and off our boat – both when we’re swimming at anchor and we are ‘Med Moored’.

Some boats have very complicated systems to do this job – even going as far as having hydraulically-actuated platforms… The maintenance!

We use a length of bungee chord (a.k.a. shock cord) with two carabiners whipped onto the ends to raise the gangplank and stop it rubbing on the dock.

We find it simple but effective, so we thought we’d share it with you in this ‘Sailing Tips’ video.
