We have found ourselves back on the tax free island of Langkawi, Malaysia as we finalise Nandji II ready to head out cruising for the first time. With a few niggling jobs and still some packages to collect before our departure, we have been busy tinkering away in preparation to sail against the weather for 500 nautical miles to the remote islands off the West Sumatran coast in Indonesia.

To mix things up a bit, we invited some crew onboard to help out along the way. Nick and Kelsey are a little green around the edges so it is important before we head to sea for days on end, we familiarise everyone with sailing and handling Nandji 2 Having a new boat is a big learning curve for all and what better way to get everyone comfortable onboard than going sailing, anchoring somewhere amazing and then fixing things…
