This video demonstrates how Chris Random was able to fit two big solar panels on to a small sailing boat. He made a DIY solar panel mounting system which allows the panels to track the sun, whilst receiving very little shading from the existing structure of the boat.

    it’s now over a year since I fitted the solar panels to the boat and the mounting system has been great. I’ve never had to remove them for bad weather (they’ve been out in 50+ knot winds). My wife and I went on our honeymoon on the boat and spent 23 consecutive nights at anchor – this would have never been possible without the solar panels.
