Launched, the new Ice 53 Sport Touring designed by Felci Yacht Design

The ICE Yachts shipyard and the Felci Yacht Design team join forces once again, creating the new Ice 53 Sport Touring, available in two versions: Race and Cruise.

The hull is laminated with epoxy resin, using the infusion of quadriaxial and unidirectional carbon fibers with local reinforcements. A 3-step epoxy infusion technique will be used to laminate the skin of the hull, while the core will be closed-cell PVC glued under vacuum. These choices, in addition to reducing weight, give the boat solidity and robustness capable of withstanding repeated stresses and heavy loads encountered even in the most challenging regattas.

The keel is a new custom design for this ICE 53 Sport Touring, with a final draft of 3.4 meters. The rudder with carbon blade and shaft is very elongated and has a reduced lateral surface, ensuring excellent control even when the boat is heeled or heavily loaded.

Compared to the 52RS, the deck equipment is tailored to the owner’s needs. The high-modulus carbon mast is prepared and studied in collaboration with the Racing Department of Axxon, drawing on their experience with many racers up to 90 feet.

We have created a boat that is not only beautiful and finely finished but also light, fast, competitive, and at the same time comfortable, a real powerhouse, the top in the market,” said ICE Yachts CEO Marco Malgara.

The new open space layout is characterized by strong symmetry and a study of weight distribution, ideal for balancing a competitive boat. Construction weights and those of the main systems will be concentrated, and unnecessary weights will be eliminated to maximize performance.
The interior layout has been designed to be extremely versatile, easily transitioning from a configuration for cruising to a sporty and essential racing setup.

The interior finish is a well-balanced mix of painted and faired white surfaces and lightweight composite finishing panels. This achieves significant weight savings compared to traditional construction, without sacrificing the quality of carpentry work, both in the sophistication of finishes and in the excellence of details. In the name of comfort, many standard accessories are on board, including electric toilets and a water desalinator.
