A Great Debut For The New Grand Soleil 42 LC At Cannes

The new Grand Soleil 42 LC, officially launched this week at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival, is Cantiere del Pardoโ€™s new entry model of the bluewater line. Comfort and sailing autonomy are the main features of this 12-meter, designed by Marco Lostuzzi together with Nauta Design and Cantiere del Pardoโ€™s Technical Office.

The 42 LC is available in two versions; standard or sport. The former is equipped with aft benches, and a carbon arch over the cockpit, designed to keep this area free of the mainsheet traveller.

Grand Soleil 42 LC: hull and deck

The GS 42 LCโ€™s hull, designed once again by Marco Lostuzzi, guarantees great stability thanks to greater hull volume. The well-proportioned sail plan optimizes the high-performance sailing standards. As with the rest of the Long Cruise range, the Grand Soleil 42 LC is designed to provide greater and more luxurious comfort on board.

Thanks to the carbon arch, the cockpit has more space for relaxing and gives greater support for the bimini top and the sprayhood. The deck layout has been designed with flush portlights, while the carbon bowsprit is designed to fly both the gennaker and the Code 0, and has integrated support for the anchor. The deck layout is characterized by a jib furler recessed below deck, and a hydraulic stern platform. The wide side-decks take you from aft to bow with ease, the coach roof area forward of the mast providing a great place to lounge on the sunbeds.

Grand Soleil 42 LC: interiors

The interior layout is available with either two or three cabins, to meet the clientโ€™s needs. Both versions include two heads with a shower. In the saloon, a three-seater sofa is found on the starboard side, while the central seat can be transformed into a chart table. The L-shape galley is equipped with the main fridge and an optional second one, as well as many storage areas.

In the three-cabin version, it is also possible to choose, for the aft starboard cabin, the V-shaped bed split into two single beds, designed in order to have the guestsโ€™ head oriented towards aft. The port aft cabin maintains the classical layout with the double bed.
