Southern Wind SW100X Celebrates an Unparalleled Connection with the Sea

In March 2023, Southern Wind unveiled the SW100X Allseas, a game-changing addition to their fleet of high-performance superyachts. Born from Southern Wind’s heritage, this innovative SW100X, developed in partnership with Farr Yacht Design for naval architecture and Nauta Design for exterior and interior aesthetics, is a culmination of decades of expertise gained from crafting close to 40 performance sailing yachts in the 90-110 feet category.

The SW100X marks a milestone where Southern Wind and the design team have elevated the connection between guests and the sea to a new level. This transformation goes beyond the exterior spaces, featuring an expansive 20-square-meter seaside lounge that functions as a genuine terrace on the sea. It also permeates the interior, boasting glass windows and surfaces that surpass anything found on comparable sailing yachts. These elements not only provide exceptional views of the surrounding seascape but also flood the interior with natural light.

In crafting the SW100X’s layout, Southern Wind drew inspiration from their history, tracing its roots from the iconic SW100 series to subsequent projects like the SW102, SW96, and SW105 semi-custom vessels. By orienting the tender garage transversely, the internal volumes have been maximized, delivering interior spaces typically associated with a 105-foot yacht within the confines of a 100-foot hull.

The SW100X boasts Southern Wind’s tried-and-true four en-suite cabin layout, enriched by a versatile multi-purpose space adaptable for use as a TV lounge, workspace, or bar.

The forward, full-beam owner’s cabin is a masterpiece of comfort, featuring a central double berth with convenient bedside tables and reading lights on both sides. On the starboard side, there’s an elegant chaise-lounge, which can alternatively be transformed into a vanity desk.

Amidships, an expansive VIP cabin beckons with its generous 1.60-meter wide by 2.05-meter long berth. Further enhancing versatility, the yacht offers two en-suite twin cabins located fore and aft of the saloon, which can be easily converted into double cabins to accommodate different guest preferences.

The SW100X’s saloon exudes elegance and spaciousness, serving as the brightest section of the interior. Natural light cascades into the saloon through a cleverly designed coach-roof with 270ยฐ panoramic windows, extra-large hull windows on each side, and a transparent, double-wide companionway. For those desiring even more light, an optional central skylight is available. With an 8-person square dining table and an adjacent L-shaped seating area, the saloon guarantees conviviality aboard.

Aft, the crew area is both spacious and comfortable, capable of housing up to four crew members. This section includes two en-suite crew cabins, a well-appointed galley, a dedicated crew mess, and the navigation station. An optional door allows for separation between the crew mess and crew cabins and the galley, giving guests the freedom to utilize the galley independently when crew assistance is not required.
