NEW CONCEPT. Sussurro, a 40 meters “easy sailing” concept

sussurro

Sussurro is a project created by Green Yachts Studio, a 40 meters length overall with a maximum beam of 7,8 metres. This concept is designed with a telescopic keel, which provides her with a draft of 3,5 metres and 5,5 metres.

Sussurro has a displacement of approximately 110 tonnes and is designed to cruise at 15 knots under engine power, fitted with a Caterpillar 490 bhp engine. On board accommodation layout offers an overnight stay for six guest and six crew. Her sail area is 713 square metres.

The studio, predominantly known for their motor yacht concepts, have worked on sailing yacht designs before such as the proposed restyling of Wally’s 94 Sensei.

Sussurro has a displacement of approximately 110 tonnes and is designed to cruise at 15 knots under engine power, fitted with a Caterpillar engine. Her sail area is 713 square metres. The hull and the structure where made of a carbon fibre sandwich.

The interior has been kept in a minimalistic style further adding to the functionality of the yacht at sea.

In addition to the master cabin, the layout of Sussurro features three queen-sized guest cabins and a single crew cabin. Exterior styling features a large hull window to enhance the levels of natural light on board, and a classic goose-tail stern shape with a stairway inspired by a fish’s dorsal fin.

In an impressive design flourish, all of the deck furniture, from the chaise longue to the dining table, would fold away into the decking to create what Green Yachts calls a “ghost deck”. Continuing this theme, the two carbon-fibre rudder wheels are recessed halfway inside the deck.
