The new YYachts Tripp 90 is one of the largest sailing yachts built in Germany and benefits from the expertise of a renowned shipyard and a talented architect, who already collaborated on the Y7.
Designed by the YYachts Custom department, the Tripp 90, named after her creator Bill Tripp, used carbon (hull, internal structures, and rigging) for optimized weight savings, which makes her competitive in regatta and performant in blue water sailing.
Easy to maneuver and equipped with thrusters, the new Tripp 90 can be handled by a crew of three. Her modern design features a large deckhouse: the sea view is omnipresent even when seated in the saloon while light floods the interiors, designed by London-based Winch Design. Winch wanted starkness and openness, as underlined by both Scandinavian and East Coast American influences using leather and light oak.
The Tripp 90 has been nominated at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards, in the category “Sailing yachts up to 40 meters”.
“The owner has already spent a lot of time on the yacht in the Mediterranean and really enjoyed it. We advised that he enjoy the boat for a while, then we’ll spend a little time fine-tuning it for racing,” says Tripp. The owner’s 2022 plans include the Caribbean 600 in Antigua in February and potentially the Rolex Middle Sea Race around Sicily in October.
