The new Melges 40 has arrived

It will revolutionalize one-design racing?

Designed by Botin Partners Naval Architecture and built by Premier Composite Technologies, the Melges 40 could revolutionalize one-design racing. What do you think about?

The Melges 40 is a strict, one-design weapon for windward/leeward, in-shore and coastal racing. Fresh off the design line, the model features a new ownership concept for a one-design racing Class
that promotes and strengthens a unique sailing/racing experience.

The canting keel aboard the boat is designed to increase upwind performance and create a dramatically faster and thrilling downwind run.

Southern Spars has fitted the Melges 40 out with a high performance rig, constructed from high-modulus carbon fibre to be light as well as stiff, with a bend profile to exactly match its North Sails package. Twin masthead halyards and jib halyard locks make sail operation easy for inshore and offshore sailing. This is the second production class yacht to feature Future Fibres’ ECthree multistrand rigging.
