A sailboat in pictures. Oceanis Yacht 62, the new era of Beneteau

French yard Beneteau launched his new Oceanis Yacht 62. Beneteau has chosen Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design and the italian Pierangelo Andreani.

Aimed at combining Berret Racoupeau`s powerful modern chined hull and sailing dynamics with the Italian flair of Andreani who brings the emphasis he has created with Beneteau in the Monte Carlo powerboat range of comfort, and luxury, and ease of functionality.

This is seen in the modeling of the stern and transom which opens fully creating a wide platform and revealing the largest in class dinghy garage and also two covered stairways to the deck level, no climbing up ladders for the Oceanis Yacht 62.

The dinghy garage of the Oceanis Yacht 62 is unusual for a yacht of this size, not requiring the dinghy to be rotated or partially deflated which is never as easy as it sounds in the brochures of course.

The innovative layout of the Oceanis Yacht 62 boasts a spacious salon and plenty of separate spaces for utmost privacy and comfort. Large hull portholes bathe the lavish interior with natural sunlight and show off the exclusive woodwork finishes.

But this isn`t just a new yacht development, it`s much more than that, it`s also an industrial development aimed at reducing the construction process and increasing finished quality and use of materials and styling whilst also improving manufacturing efficiency and so capping the cost.

Beneteau is a world expert at this approach in the 40 ft to 50 ft yacht sector but this hasn`t before been taken into the larger yacht market. With an expectation of achieving price reductions of 150,000 euros to 200,000 euros for full cruising spec boats delivered on the water, this is an ambitious and game-changing plan in this size range.
