Grand Large Yachting and Outremer announce the launch of the first Outremer 45 built in Lorient, named “Zoulpi”. This marks the start of production for the Outremer 45 and 4X catamarans at this new facility. The expansion of the manufacturing capabilities at Lorient is set to shorten the waiting period for customers.
The transition to Lorient follows the successful acquisition of the Ocean Rider Catamaran (ORC) brand last September. This strategic integration allows Grand Large Yachting to strengthen its position in the bluewater cruising market through the production of high-performance catamarans and leverages the infrastructure and skills of one of the area’s most respected shipyards. Additionally, it broadens the company’s mission to enable more people, whether seasoned sailors or newcomers, to pursue their sailing dreams safely and responsibly.
The team efforts between La Grande-Motte and Lorient have been vital in ensuring a seamless and effective shift in production. This collaboration involved sharing knowledge and aligning production practices to uphold Outremer’s recognized standards of quality and performance. Outremer continues to lead in crafting seaworthy and high-performance catamarans designed for comfortable long-distance sailing, including voyages around the Equator.
