Don’t forget to wear sunscreen and a hat

You’ll want to stay safe by wearing plenty of sunscreen and hats while enjoying your favorite water sport. And be sure not to forget your sunglasses – this way you can look cool as you cruise across the surface of the water but also protect your eyes from the glare! Getting the board to the water could be tough. If you need help to transport your SUP’s paddle board then the use of a cart is a good solution. Bring plenty of water and snacks on your paddleboarding trip

It is good to bring plenty of snacks and water on a paddleboarding trip. You can take some with you in the car if your paddleboarding excursion begins somewhere near where you live, but be sure not to forget them at home! If for some reason this isn’t possible then make sure that there are plenty of places nearby where you will be able to buy food and drink.

And it goes without saying – don’t paddleboard when it is dark outside because…you won’t see any sharks!

Stay away from the shoreline if there are waves

  • You don’t want to get hit by a rogue wave!

If there are waves paddleboarding in the ocean or a lake you want to stay away from the shoreline. The reason for this is that you don’t want to get hit by a rogue wave! When it comes to paddleboarders, staying safe is extremely important and so if you choose to paddleboard on an open body of water be sure not to spend too much time near land – especially when big waves arrive!

Another good tip about paddle boarding? Make sure that your feet dry before putting them into your shoes because otherwise… you will have smelly sneakers! And lastly, make sure not to paddle while standing up unless you feel confident doing so because falling off could mean accidentally dropping your board and damaging its surface!

Practice before going out onto the open ocean or bay

It’s important that you know what you’re doing when paddling in dangerous conditions. Before paddleboarding in the open ocean or bay, it’s good to practice on a smaller body of water. This way you know what to expect when paddleboarding further out into deeper waters – and can be sure that you will stay safe!

Watch for jellyfish

Jellyfish can sting even at low tide so make sure not to touch any jellyfish tentacles that may be floating around in the water near your paddleboard. This is another reason why paddleboarding in the open ocean or bay can be dangerous – you don’t want to get stung! If this does happen, it’s important that you know how to react. But first and foremost? Make sure not to rub your skin with sand because doing so will only push more venom into your body through cuts on your hands!

You should also rinse off any tentacles from a jellyfish sting immediately if they are stuck onto your skin and then cover up the area using lots of moist cloths. After getting out of the water quickly head over to an ice pack as soon as possible and hold against where the tentacle made contact with your paddleboarder’s skin for around 20 minutes so less venom can be released.

Don’t paddleboard alone

It’s not smart to paddleboard alone and you can easily avoid this by taking a friend along or, if possible, hiring an experienced guide from local paddleboarding companies in your area who are willing to lead paddleboards on trips as well as teach beginners how to paddle safely and correctly. If no one is available then there are plenty of great online tutorials that will show you exactly what you need to do – so make sure that you take the time out to watch some videos before venturing out into open water with your paddleboard!

It’s important to make sure you are prepared for your paddleboarding trip with the right gear and knowledge of safety precautions.
