Beach holiday is usually awesome experience. However, that doesn’t mean you can show up completely unprepared and expect to still have the time of your life, especially if you’re bringing the family along for a group adventure. Like every other outing, a trip to the beach is always better when you bring the right stuff and plan ahead. To help you have a more enjoyable and memorable experience, we’ve compiled the following list of simple things you can bring along to make life more convenient and entertaining.
1. A Large Awning
We all love the idea of lounging in the sun, but after a while, you’re going to want some shade to keep you cool. Most people will bring an umbrella, but canvas awnings are a much better option if you’re going to be traveling with a group. Plus, an awning won’t blow away in the wind or tip over as easily as a shade umbrella. You can click here for more information on the different kinds of awnings you can bring to the beach.
2. Whistles
Why in the world would you want to bring a whistle to the beach, you ask? Well, because it’s a very easy way to get your group’s attention when the beach is crowded or when they’ve strolled to a distant part of the beach.
3. Sunglasses
The bright sun is beautiful in pictures, but it causes you to squint and scrunch up your face when you’re actually outside facing it. Be sensible and bring sunglasses and a hat.
4. Binoculars
Bring some binoculars so you can watch birds and other wildlife in their natural habitats. You can also watch for ships as they sail out to the horizon, or dolphins that dive in and out of the water. Whatever you choose to do with them, it’salways better when you can see more than just what’s in your range of vision.
5. Frisbees
Frisbees are lightweight, compact, and easy for everyone to play with. Heck, even a toddler can throw a frisbee, and even a dog can catch one, so it’s fun for the whole family.
6. A Surplus of Towels
You pack five towels and think that’s plenty, but then you’re using damp and dirty towels by the end of the day. Be smart, bring twice as many towels as you think you need and choose larger beach towels that you can lay out on the sand with.
7. A Waterproof Camera
Bring a waterproof camera and you can capture all the fun in the sun, or in the water, without having to worry about your camera falling into the ocean.
Preparing for All Possible Hassles
In the end, planning for an awesome beach trip isn’t just about bringing things that are going to help you have fun, it’s also about packing items that help you avoid inconveniences, mishaps, and uncomfortable circumstances.
While the list above is a good start, it’s wise to compile your own brainstormed list that contains at least 10-15 items. Although that may seem excessively precautionary, the good news is that you can refer back to that list any time you go tothe beach again in the future.
