How long until your Waste is decomposed in the Water? INFOGRAPHIC

If one bottle of water made it into the sea, how long would it take to fully decompose? An example?  Plastic bags we use in our everyday life take 10-1000 years to decompose, while plastic bottles can take 450 years or more.

  1. I’m impressed that someone has taken the time to statisize this but I think your research is faulty. Metal with iron in it won’t last very long at all in a salt environment and aluminum oxidizes far faster than 400 years! Plastic, that’s the bugger – it lasts far to long to be flung into the ocean! Glass well that’s an element it won’t go away period.
