Developed in collaboration with German Frers, the new Wally 145 (44.2 m) is a single-masted sailing yacht and it will be launched in May 2019.
Luca Bassani – Wally founder and president – says, “The new Wally 145 is the perfect yacht to enjoy sailing round the world. She epitomises our credo of uncompromised performance combined with timeless appeal and providing the owners with the pleasure of truly sailing in any wind condition, from the very light to the strong airs, in complete comfort.”
Speaking of the project in more detail, German Frers says: “The new Wally 145 has been created for a distinguished, knowledgeable person who really enjoys driving a sensitive, well balanced, pleasant and fast sailing yacht, while cruising with his family but also, and most important, while racing around the cans.”
The new Wally will be fitted with a Southern Spars mast and boom flying North Sails. An hybrid propulsion system will be based on DC Bus and lithium batteries.
The Wally 145 is currently under construction in Persico Marine’s new shipyard for advanced composite megacruisers set up in Massa Carrara, Italy, in conjunction with its recent strategic partnership with Wally.
“We are sure that this megayacht will raise the bar of the yachting industry and be the start of a successful venture,” stated Marcello Persico, CEO of Persico Marine.
The Wally 145 launch date is scheduled for May 2019.
