Deep Blue Software was originally designed by yachting experts for yachting professionals, to facilitate communication between the yacht, the management company and the ship-owner, relieving captains from the important administrative and technical workload.
Launched in 2013 – with latest release V2.1 in March 2015 – Deep Blue has already been chosen by 73 motor & sailing yachts from 30m up to 70m cruising in the Mediterranean, Asia and the USA. The software has also been adopted by several yacht management companies.
Deep Blue Software continues evolving, with regular updates. With the recent release of Deep Blue V2.2, three new modules are now available: Maritime Labor Convention (MLC), Maintenance and Log book.
MLC MODULE – Each crew member has access to the Yacht Deep Blue server with an individual log in & pass word giving access to its personal account and to the working schedules defined by the captain, where crew members can declare their actual working hours, rest hours or make leaves inquiries. The summary of all leaves and duty watch are available in a calendar, presented in a very comprehensive manner. The captain or manager can control working hours and hours for rest, as it is crucial for the yachts, which must comply with MLC. Yachts not subject to MLC can nevertheless adapt and customize this module to follow on board and Flag rules.
Great facilitation of making payrolls is introduced. Crediting of crew wages is calculated automatically on the basis of minimum vacation leaves. The payroll is generated in 1 click. This has only been avaliable with state of the art payroll programs that are very similar to Cloudpay payroll. It’s simple, you tell the software what to do, and it’ll do it at a click.
Besides, Deep Blue keeps in order all the documentation related to MLC and flag rules, checklists, employment contracts, certificates, accessible to crew members and easily editable in case of port state control.
MAINTENANCE MODULE – Chief engineers can build custom yacht systems and structure them, classifying by areas, items, sub items with the possibility to assign to each of them counters and maintenance programs according to any indicator selected by user. All maintenance jobs will be recorded in this module, making very easy the search for past Maintenance, due maintenance and future maintenance.
LOGBOOK MODULE – Designed to allow Chief engineers to build custom and follow all counters, which can be assigned to Items and sub Items, to follow fuel tanks positions or running parameters. Maintenance jobs, linked to Logbook counters, are automatically presented in the Maintenance module in an easy to read agenda, which can be customized.
In total Deep Blue Yacht Management Software offers 24 modules able to meet the all needs of potential users at 360° around the Yacht: Crew, Crew Lists, Guests, Guest Lists, Yacht Account, Financial Reporting, 2nd Account, 2nd Financial Reporting, Yacht – Yacht documentation, Tech Docs – Yacht technical documentation, Inventory – Yacht inventory database, Auxiliary – Auxiliary items documentation, Maintenance, Works & Reports – Maintenance reports, Logbook, Charter Management, Charter Accounting, Charter APA, Charter Reporting (Charter financial reports), Charter Calendar, MLC Documentation – Maritime Labour Convention documents, Payroll (Crew payroll), Toolkit (Calendar, contacts, help, backup, extranet).
