Breaking the Channel World Record: the Phil Sharp journey. VIDEO

Watch the journey unfold as Phil Sharp sailing Class 40 Imerys establishes a new World Record for the Cowes to Dinard as the outright monohull, and single-handed up to 60ft on both mono and multihull.





Ratified by the World Sailing Speed Record Council, Phil covered the route distance of 138nm on 24 November in 9 hours 3 minutes and 6 seconds with an average speed of 15.25kts. A total of 3 hours was carved off the previous record time of 12 hours 01 minute 31 seconds set on 85ft Adrien by J L Van Den Heede (FRA) set in November 2004.
